About Us
MSMUN
The Middle School Model United Nations (MSMUN) has been a key educational conference for 31 years, inviting students aged 10-14 to experience the United Nations’ operations over four days. Through simulations of the General Assembly and committees like Technology, Health, Human Rights, Ecology, and Security Council, participants engage in debates on global issues, enhancing their research, critical thinking, and public speaking skills. The conference emphasizes international diplomacy, encouraging students to understand diverse perspectives and collaborate on solving global challenges. Beyond debates, MSMUN features workshops, guest lectures, and interactive activities, fostering lasting friendships and a sense of global citizenship.
EAMUN
The East African Model United Nations (EAMUN) has been engaging high school students for 43 years, bringing together participants from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Angola for four days of intense debate and diplomacy. Delegates simulate the United Nations, representing various countries and working in committees like Economic and Politics, Ecology, and specialized areas to draft resolutions on global issues.
The conference hones skills in public speaking, negotiation, and diplomacy while fostering cross-cultural understanding and friendships. EAMUN emphasizes teamwork, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving, complemented by workshops, guest speakers, and networking events. It provides a platform for students to deepen their understanding of international relations and inspires them to become proactive global citizens and future leaders.
OUR SECRETARIAT

Aarav Patel - Secretary General
My name is Aarav Patel, a Year 13 student at Peponi School, and I’m honored to serve as your Secretary-General for the upcoming East African Model United Nations. MUN has been a transformative part of my high school journey, equipping me with essential skills in public speaking, research, leadership, and diplomacy. Through roles like ambassador, junior chair, and Co-Chair of the First General Assembly, I’ve grown significantly (though, unfortunately, not in height). MUN offers a unique space for students to engage with global issues, collaborate with peers, and develop into confident leaders ready to tackle the world’s challenges.Aarav Patel - Secretary General

Prithvi Daharwal - Deputy Secretary-General
Hello everyone! I’m Prithvi, and I’m serving as your Deputy Secretary-General this year!
I am super excited to be serving as your DSG this year and working to make this the coolest conference you’ve been to. I started my EAMUN journey as a delegate and slowly progressed, serving as a Junior Chair and, most recently, the Senior Chairperson of the HDC and the Ecology Committee (aka the best committee). Through all these roles, I’ve learnt the importance of taking that leap of faith and stepping outside your comfort zone and I hope I’m able to pass this on. I have also learnt of all the best places to munch at the UN Offices so I’m your go-to guy for all things food! I’m a student in Year 13 at Premier Academy and I can’t wait to make this conference (we’re cooking) a very exciting and special experience for everyone! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me on prithvi.eamun@gmail.com!

Sariga Rajesh - Co-Chair Person of the First General Assembly
Hello everyone! I’m Sariga Rajesh and I’m more than esteemed to be the Co-Chairperson Of The First General Assembly. We hope to give our best at conference, to enhance the journey for our delegates. We aim at branching out and maintaining several aspects of our charity venture. We thrive to enable all participants and individuals to feel empowered by the programme. I’m a student pursuing my IB diploma, at Aga Khan Academy. My hobbies range from music or the occasional reading, but mainly napping. Like my hobbies, my journey in MUN has been A journey; my first time in MUN was as an ambassador - where my resolution tanked! For the next two years, I was a Junior Chair and had a comeback as an Ambassador . Looking back at my journey, I’m grateful to have taken chances, and would urge all delegates to do so - see you soon!.

Ayan Mohamud - Co-Chair Person of the First General Assembly
Hi everyone! I’m Ayan Abdi Mohamud and I’m beyond honored to serve as a Co-Chairperson of the First General Assembly (GA1) for this year’s conferences. Us GA1s handle all things charity-related, the HDC and Junior Chairs, among other things. As a year 13 student at Light International School, I’ve been part of the program for the past 3 years. I have had a few heartbreaking experiences (getting cooked as a delegate in HR during right to explain vote) but I've loved every step of the process! My one hope is that each and every delegate this year can feel just as connected to the program as I have, if not more. Top tip; be brave–raising your placard to speak equals infinite aura. Looking forward to an amazing conference year with you all.

Omar Tamim - Co-Chair Person of the Second General Assembly
Hi! I am Omar Tamim, a Co-Chairperson of the Second General Assembly! I am beyond excited to share with you all the changes we’ve made to the program; there is no conference without delegates and officers, after all. It’s quite surprising how steady the build up from an Ambassador to the Executive Committee has been, and I wish to empower many people to realize the challenge is not as hard as they make it out to be. Any one of you sitting in the General Assembly could someday be on the dais you’re staring at – all it takes is determination and passion. In my tenure, I wish to reflect these traits through changes to Securitary training (committee spoiler), the fantastic WLC and special events we have planned. If you ever need to, don’t hesitate to reach out to me through omar.eamun@gmail.com.

Ziyi Zhong - Co-Chair Person of the Second General Assembly
Salutations! I am ZiYi Zhong, one of the Co-Chairpersons of the Second General Assembly, responsible for Securitary Training, the Special Summit, the World Languages Committee, and opening MSMUN for debate. I hope to leave behind a legacy that emphasizes that the "2" in GA2 makes us no second to GA1, and that being a Securitary is no second to being a Junior Chair. I aspire to further empower both types of officers to be on the same level of reputation, building on the work of our predecessors, Raam Gururajan and Imnet Habteab. Additionally, I seek to increase the prestige of the WLC and introduce the upcoming Building Futures Committee with my Co-Chair, Omar Tamim. I am a Grade 12 (Year 13) student at Rift Valley Academy. My hobbies include art, anime, scrolling through Instagram, road trips with friends, and videography. Contact me at ziyi.eamun@gmail.com

Kunjal Kukadia - Executive Assistant
Hello! My name is Kunjal Kukadia and I am delighted to be the Executive Assistant for the upcoming EAMUN conference. The role of the executive assistant in a nutshell is to be the “friendly face” of the executive committee and therefore I would be the person that people can approach with any kind of inquiries. I'm a Year 13 student studying at SCLP Samaj Senior School. Outside of EAMUN and school, I love art, watching sitcoms and browsing the internet (professional way of saying I watch reels). My ultimate goal at the conference is to be approachable and helpful, answering questions and solving problems with a friendly demeanor. I look forward to meeting everyone and having a good time! Feel free to contact me at kunjal.eamun@gmail.com for any queries.

Media Directors

Sreenandhu Siju - Media Director
Working as a Media Director for EAMUN (East African Model United Nations) is incredibly fulfilling for me. I thrive in this role because it allows me to combine my passion for media with my commitment to promoting global awareness and education. At EAMUN, I have the opportunity to craft compelling narratives, manage dynamic media campaigns, and engage with a diverse audience. This role challenges me to stay ahead of media trends and continuously innovate, ensuring our message reaches and resonates with our community. Most importantly, I love being part of an organization that empowers young minds to think critically and act globally.

Bill Njuki - Assistant Media Director
When you really want to achieve something, all the universe conspires to help you achieve it.” ~ Paulo Coelho~ I’m a firm believer in that if something is meant for you, and if you truly want to achieve it, you become the vibrational frequency of that particular thing, and the universe in return, matches your frequency. As a selectively extroverted product and landscape photographer who plays the saxophone, writes a few lines of code and enjoys a good round of golf and basketball, life has taught me that the energy you put out, is the exact same you attract. Whether it’s the energy of being a future delegate delivering your speech to the General Assembly or that of an MUN officer, when you set out to give everything you do your absolute best, fate has no choice but to work out in your favour, but in the few times it doesn’t, you can always take another shot, because life is like a photograph. Just make sure you bring an extra SD Card

Annah Kang’oro - Assistant Media Director
Hi! My name is Annah Kang’oro and I am currently a student at Rosslyn Academy. MUN, specifically media is one of my passions because it allows me to use my talents to create. Whether it be writing drawing or editing, there’s a place for it within the media team. However, when I’m not creating media you can probably find me reading, crocheting,or playing field hockey.
